.ok now see the below. that is a picture of the one type of    capacitors .this type of capacitors use  to make small device's circuits.now  days this capacitor type is use for every circuits like CLF bulbs,Mobile phones,LCD tvS  etc.

The capacitor is use for store some energy (current) .and capacitor can filter AC and DC voltage.these are the main tasks  of the capacitor .every capacitor have unique storing capacity .that is printed on that.or can find using modern digital multimeter or other capacity measurement meter .
